IS YOUR CHILD SICK?

Figure out what to do now and what to do next.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) KidsDoc Symptom Checker has a complete list of symptoms from A–Z at healthychildren.org

Disclaimer: The KidsDoc Symptom Checker is provided as a supportive resource for parents and is not meant to replace the advice of the provider who cares for your child. All medical advice and information should be considered to be incomplete without a physical exam, which is not possible without a visit to your provider.

At Central Vermont Medical Center, we offer a variety of services to keep your children healthy. We encourage all children to have a primary care provider and to schedule regular well-child check-ups.

Well-Child Check-Ups

We believe that the best way to keep your child healthy is through regular well-child check-ups. It is during these office visits that we evaluate your child's growth and development, check hearing, vision and speech, promote good safety habits and injury prevention, discuss anticipated changes in your child's development and behavior, evaluate school readiness, prevent illness with immunizations, and explore questions or concerns you may have had about your child's health, growth, development or behavior.

Regular visits should occur at the following stages:

  • 2 weeks
  • 2 months
  • 4 months
  • 6 months
  • 9 months
  • 12 months
  • 15 months
  • 18 months
  • 24 months/2 years
  • 30 months
  • 36 months/3 years
  • Every year after age 3

Some children will need to be seen more or less frequently than these recommendations. If you feel that your child needs a schedule that differs from the one above, please discuss this with us.
