2015 Highlights

Intensive Care Unit
Network Collaboration

UVM Medical Center and CVMC teams collaborated through the Network to bring intensivist-level care and training to the Intensive Care Unit.

Cancer Care - This Close

We recently launched a campaign to increase awareness of the services and expertise available at our cancer center, our affiliation with the UVM Health Network, and the advantages of having cancer care close to home. We are proud of our cancer treatment center and want to spread the word about our exceptional care.

Network Heart Failure Improvements

A multidisciplinary focus on heart failure management and treatment throughout the UVM Health Network brought the best heart care in the nation to our region.

More Patients = More Rooms

This past year we added new rooms to handle CVMC’s growing inpatient volumes and redesigned the main lobby for improved patient flow.

Grand Openings

We built two new primary care offices this year. Granite City Primary Care in Barre opened in March 2015 and Green Mountain Family Practice in Northfield was completed a few months later in May 2015.

Increased Minimum Wage
to $11/hour

Our internal cost savings allowed us to increase our minimum wage. We believe fair wages are crucial to attracting and keeping quality employees and are a benefit to everyone in the community.

Finances and Philanthropy

We ended the year with a 3% operating margin, exceeding our network goals. We paid competitive wages to our employees, donated $784,000 in free care, and provided community benefits of more than $38 million.

Woodridge Rehabilitation and Nursing

Not only was Woodridge Administrator Ursula Margazano named Administrator of the Year by the Vermont Health Care Association, the entire facility was found “deficiency-free” by the State of Vermont for the third year in a row.
