The Parkinson’s Pantomime Project

10:30 am to 12:00 pm

Please note: This class is sponsored by the Montpelier Senior Activity Center and does not meet at the hospital (see location information at left).

Offered for people with Parkinson’s disease, their caregivers, and others who experience movement/mobility challenges, this class employs basic mime technique as a method for coping with movement limitations. Participants explore visualization, articulation of gesture, and creative use of imagery and space.

NAMI Vermont Family Support Group

7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

The National Alliance on Mental Illness offers free, monthly 90-minute support groups for family and friends of individuals with a mental illness. Participants talk frankly about their challenges and help one another by sharing coping strategies and learned wisdom. All meetings are facilitated by trained NAMI family members.

Moderate Yoga to Improve Balance

In this class we will strengthen and increase the flexibility of our feet, ankles, hips, core, and back muscles to improve balance. We will cultivate body awareness and focus our attention through mindful movement, using the breath to stay present. We will also work with various tools to support overall balance of body, emotions, mind and spirit.
