Dr. Dreslin attended Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago, Ill. and completed his urology residency at Harvard University School of Medicine in Boston, Mass. where he was the chief resident in the division of urology. For the last 10 years he has been practicing in Newport and Wakefield, R.I. His areas of expertise include adult urology, urologic oncology, stone disease, prostate disease and voiding dysfunction, infertility, incontinence, female pelvic floor dysfunction and erectile dysfunction. He has a particular interest in prosthetic urology, Peyronie’s disease and sacral nerve neuromodulation.
Before going to medical school, Dr. Dreslin studied psychobiology at Albright College in Reading, Pa. and worked as a laboratory scientist for Pfizer Central Research in Groton, Conn. As much as he loved science, it was his interest in people and the human condition that fueled his desire to become a physician. As a doctor he sees his role as an educator, using his knowledge to help patients better understand their bodies.
“In order to understand many issues in urology, one must be familiar with the normal underlying anatomy,” said Dr. Dreslin. “I enjoy taking time to review this, along with the natural history of a particular disease process with my patients. I believe that this better understanding improves compliance and ultimately patient outcomes.”
