At Central Vermont Medical Center our Occupational Therapists help patients master the skills needed for self-care, to get back to work and play.
Occupational Therapists (OT) are licensed health care professionals who evaluate and treat people with physical, cognitive, sensory, visual, motor and/or psychological disabilities. Occupational Therapists help patients master the skills needed for self-care, work and play. Treatment may include therapeutic methods, applied and assistive technology, and environmental modifications.
Our Outpatient Services
Each occupational therapy session focuses on how an individual's cognitive impairments affect their ability to independently complete daily activities. The therapist leads the client through real world activities to promote strategies, accommodations and/or adaptions in cooking, dressing and home making tasks. As appropriate for each client, the therapist may also work on independent skills necessary for community living such as money management, meal planning and accessing transportation.

Our Inpatient Services
Occupational therapy plays an important role in the acute care setting regarding patients who have experienced a sudden decline in medical and functional status due to a traumatic event, worsening of a progressive disease, or the onset of a new condition.
Request an Appointment
Use our online form to request an appointment with a CVMC Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT) or Speech Language Pathologist (SLP). Once you have filled out the form below, you will be contacted by a scheduler from our Rehabilitation Therapy department.
