Providing the best heart care starts with advanced cardiovascular testing. The expert cardiologists, nurse practitioners, and specialized technicians at Central Vermont Medical Center use the latest heart tests and equipment to give you and your doctor a better understanding of how your heart is functioning and the best way to treat your heart condition.

We will make sure you understand each test and why we recommend it before we begin. Your provider will take time to explain your results and answer your questions—together, we’ll optimize your heart health.

Diagnostic Heart Tests We Offer

The following types of cardiology tests are performed by our cardiology technicians. Please note that Cardiac Stress Tests and Transesophageal Echocardiograms require that a physician be present during the test. Scheduling varies according to the availability of the physician and technologist.

Arranging for a Test

Inpatients: If you are a patient in the hospital, physicians may request that your cardiology test be done before you are discharged home. Arrangements for testing will be made between the nursing staff and the Cardiology staff.

Outpatients: If your test is to be performed on an outpatient basis the physician's office staff will set up an appointment date and time for you to come in to have the test performed. All Cardiology tests require a written physician's order prior to the test.
