This class (formerly the Parkinson’s Pantomime Project) is for people with Parkinson's disease—and other movement disorders—and their caregivers and family. We will learn basic mime technique as a method for coping with movement limitations through visualization, articulation of gesture, and creative use of imagery and space. Circus games such as juggling and playing with balancing feathers, help foster manual dexterity, postural awareness and ease of movement in daily activities.
No theater experience required.
Instructor Rob Mermin, founder of Circus Smirkus, trained with renowned mime Marcel Marceau, before embarking on a 40-year career in the circus world.
