Farm to Table Dinner Supports Local Food-Insecure Families

CVMC’s Farm to Table Benefit Dinner at the West Monitor Barn raised nearly $4,000 in August for the Health Care Share (HCS), a food assistance program we support with Vermont Youth Conservation Corps (VYCC) and Hunger Mountain Coop. The HCS provides local, fresh veggies from The Farm at VYCC to community members in need. During the summer, food shares are distributed weekly and provide more than 10 pounds of freshly harvested vegetables to food-insecure families for three months. Last year, more than 150 families received approximately 30,300 pounds of produce and 1,350 pounds of chicken.
