In June, CVMC earned the EPA’s official ENERGY STAR certification, signifying that the facility performs in the top 25 percent of all hospitals nationwide for energy efficiency. It took five years of hard work by the Energy Savings Initiative team and partners Efficiency Vermont, Liebert Engineering and Control Technologies. Due to their tireless efforts, we’ve reduced energy consumption by 28 percent and greenhouse gas emissions by 6.3 million pounds of carbon dioxide a year — unprecedented for a Vermont hospital.
