The Vice President of Practice Operations is a senior level executive position at UVMHN-Central Vermont Medical Center (CVMC).This position focuses on providing high-value services and operational oversight of the CVMC medical group practices (MGP).
The position is responsible for standardizing operational processes and policies across the CVMC MGP in support of the mission and vision of CVMC and the UVMHN. The emphasis is on the achievement of the ideal patient encounter, including efficient and effective high value care throughout the CVMC practices. The CVMC Vice President works closely with the CVMC Senior Leadership team, providers and UVMHN MG executives in meeting the strategic, operational and financial goals of the CVMC Practice.
Strategic and operational goals include improving financial and operating performance in each practice, improving access, supporting clinical delivery optimization efforts, implementing clinical workflows and processes in support of the organizations electronic health record (EPIC) and supporting core strategies that advance the transition to population health.
The Vice President is a member of the CVMC senior leadership team.
A strong, cohesive dyad relationship is required between the CVMC Vice President and the CVMC Regional Physician Leader.
As a senior CVMC practice executive, this individual will interact regularly with UVMHN executives and especially the UVMHN MG Vice President for Regional Practices.
Education: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or a related field. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration or a related field.
Experience: Requires at least ten years of progressive heath care leadership experience at the Director’s level or above, with experience in leading a multi-specialty physician practice in a community practice setting. The ideal candidate will have experience with community practices.
Knowledge/Special Skills: Position requires excellent analytic and communication skills. Strong financial management and planning skills. Knowledge of provider compensation models are essential. Must have familiarity with provider practice management processes, clinic operations, electronic health records and human resource policies
