The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for direct and indirect professional nursing care to patients, serves as patient advocate, and provides teaching, counseling and emotional comfort to patients and family members.
Provides direct care to assigned patients in conformance with hospital policies, professional standards, physician orders, and approved plan of care.
Responsible for indirect nursing functions and activities of assigned nursing personnel.
Functions within limits of Vermont Nurse Practice Act, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and hospital and nursing department policies and procedures.
Supports philosophy, objectives, and goals of nursing department. Nursing process will be utilized in the provision of patient care.
At CVMC we take pride in our Nurse Residency Program which offers monthly classes for each cohort, along with the opportunity to work one-on-one with a preceptor to become proficient in the basic skills required to be an RN. Based on start date, your entry in to the cohort may vary but you can count on a great support system from our experienced nursing team!
Med-Surg at the Hospital and Woodridge our skilled nursing home have the greatest number of our RN Resident seats available. That said:
Departments seeking new graduates in Summer 2022: Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg), Emergency Department (ER), Surgical Services (OR), and Woodridge (Skilled Nursing Facility/Long Term Care).
Departments seeking new graduates in Early 2023: Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg), Emergency Department (ER), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Surgical Services (OR), Women & Children's (L&D), and Woodridge (Skilled Nursing Facility/Long Term Care).
Grow with us: Start in one of these units, and then as you wrap up your residency/first year and have gained the foundational skills to empower you as an RN - at CVMC we do our best to support you in transferring to another unit if you have a desire to try out another specialty.
Before you are able to start in an RN role, securing your RN license to practice professional nursing in the State of Vermont is required.
When we hire new nurse graduates we are looking for those who have the knowledge, skills and ability to join our team of amazing nurses and learn on the job. We know you may not have RN experience, we're here to help you gain that and create a foundation that will support you building a thriving nursing career!
PAY & BENEFITS
Our new RNs will start at the base of our pay scale.
Shift Differentials can bring your pay up pretty quickly! For example, when you join our night shift team you'll earn 80 hours pay for 72 hours of patient care with a competitive hourly rate, plus a shift differential of $4.25/hr.
