Central Vermont Medical Center, a partner in the University of Vermont Health Network, is currently seeking a full-time Board Certified or Eligible Family Medicine physician to join the Green Mountain Family Practice team in Northfield.
The medical practice has cared for generations of Central Vermonters and has a strong presence in the community it serves. It moved to a new stand-alone building in 2015 which allows for a natural integration of PT/OT/SLP, nutrition and mental health services with evidence-based, innovative primary care delivery for patients of all ages while leveraging cutting edge technology including telemedicine, digital x-ray and the new EMR, Epic. Preventative and acute care, dermatologic and orthopedic procedures, LARC management, as well as MAT services are all provided on site. A unique aspect of the practice is they direct and staff the student health services for the neighboring Norwich University. This allows for time in the student infirmary as well as coverage of certain athletic events. There are also opportunities to teach medical students through the University of Vermont as an Associate Clinical Professor. Specialized geriatric care is provided for patients at a local long term care facility. There are ample leadership opportunities at the local and health network levels. The practice enjoys a close-knit culture that fosters collegiality and partnership between both staff and providers alike.
While enjoying this wealth of diverse practice opportunities, the clinician group is motivated by the desire to make a real difference in the wellness of the lives of their patients in addition to the health of the population around them. They also care deeply about developing the healthy work-life balance that leads to a long and sustainable career. They are looking for a like-minded family physician who wants to be part of a dynamic team in a diverse practice setting managing an appreciative patient population, all while enjoying the special lifestyle that comes with living in Vermont.
The practice sits at the base of Paine Mountain, which has well maintained mountain bike, ski, and snowshoe trails. Given the location in the Dog River Valley, there are opportunities for many other outdoor recreational activities in the surrounding area including nearby Sugarbush and Stowe resorts. Northfield is a 15 minute drive from the state capitol, Montpelier, and a 45 minute drive from the city of Burlington on Lake Champlain.
The University of Vermont Health Network is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the community.
The benefit package includes assistance with relocation, student loan repayment, medical and dental insurance, professional liability coverage, 403(b) retirement plan, CTO and CME
