“Woodridge is a wonderful place to get top of the line treatment. The rehab is very unique. They put a lot of emphasis on incorporating your whole life – it’s very holistic.” ~Patty Witham

At Woodridge our robust rehabilitation team of Physical Therapists (PTs), Occupational Therapists (OTs), and a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) strives to meet the needs of both our long-term and short-term residents. While these are two very distinct populations with very different care needs, our rehabilitation goal is to help every individual achieve the most independent, pain free life as possible.

New rehabilitation techniques are available at Woodridge that focus on sub-acute short-term stays for patients having joint replacements or who need a place to work on becoming stronger in order to successfully transition from a hospital setting to home. In order to provide the best meet the needs of our short-term residents, they are located in the wing located closest to the Rehabilitation Therapy department.
Elective joint repair patients are invited to call or email Sheri Spears to set up a facility tour prior to surgery. Contact Sheri at 802-371-4712 or sheri.speirs[at]cvmc[dot]org.
Every new resident is evaluated by our rehabilitation therapists. In some situations, skilled physical or occupational therapy may be recommended—that is, therapy that can only be provided by a licensed therapist. In other cases, exercises or a mobility program may be recommended to be carried out by a therapy aide or nursing staff. Not every resident needs skilled physical therapy, but every resident has his/her rehabilitation and mobility needs addressed and met.
Woodridge has a high level of commitment to controlling any pain that our residents might experience. Our nurses and therapists will develop a comprehensive plan of care around pain after performing a complete pain assessment and determining how that pain affects you.
