Coumadin Clinic

Cecile Gendron, RN, B.S.
Coumadin Specialist at CVMC

Checking and adjusting your Coumadin levels at CVMC’s clinic takes
only 15 minutes after your first 60 minute appointment.

What does Coumadin do?
This physician prescribed blood thinner reduces your blood’s tendency to form clots. It’s important to to get regular and timely tests to ensure your blood is not too thin or too thick.

Making your first appointment:
Your physician will provide a referral to the clinic and set up your first 60 minute appointment. Patients will set up the next appointment directly with clinic staff for a more routine 15 minutes.

CVMC’s Outpatient Anticoagulation “Coumadin” Clinic

provides patients with a complete and organized approach to anticoagulation therapy, using established protocols. A comprehensive assessment by a registered nurse, along with intervention and education provide our patients with quality care and positive outcomes.

Will my insurance cover this?

Medicare and most major insurance companies cover clinic visits with varying co-pay amounts. Check with Medicare or your insurance company for details.
