Holter MonitoringThe Holter monitor is a 24-hour continuous recording of your electrocardiogram or EKG. It permits recognition of any rhythm problem of the heart, which may occur during daily activities. The taped EKG (also called ECG) is scanned electronically to see if there are any abnormal heartbeats. If any significant problem is found, the patient is notified immediately. A written report is sent to the referring physician.
Preparation for a Holter Monitoring:
No preparation for a Holter Monitor placement is required. You will need to take your clothes off above the waist. Please select a shirt or blouse that you can take on and off easily. |
