Other Area ProvidersIn addition to operating fifteen Medical Group Practices, CVMC works in collaboration with many private medical practices located in our service area. Physicians who work in these practices in addition to those employed by CVMC are all evaluated and approved by CVMC run committees before they are granted the privilege to admit and treat patients in the hospital.
In all, the CVMC Medical Staff is comprised of over 120 physicians, representing 25 specialty areas of medicine. Of the total, 88% are Board Certified which means they have passed rigorous tests in their area of specialty or focus. In addition, there are three PhD level psychologists on staff as well as a number of Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants who are a critical part of the primary care team available to patients in central Vermont.
