Nutrition & Food Services

The Nutrition & Food Services department at CVMC oversees all inpatient nutritional care as well as our Mountain View Café, which is open to all staff and visitors.

Our Services

All inpatients are screened for their nutritional risks as part of the admission process.  For a patient at nutritional risk, an appropriate plan of care will be developed by trained Diet Technicians, Registered Dietitians (RD), and other members of the interdisciplinary team.  Patients may also receive nutrition intervention upon personal request.  We strive to include family and other caregivers in a patient’s nutritional care.

Medical nutrition therapy, including education, is provided for the following conditions:

  • Hypertension
  • Diabetes
  • Gastrointestinal disorders such as colitis, pancreatitis, crohn’s disease, celiac disease
  • Diet during cancer treatment
  • Weight loss or gain program
  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
  • Cardiac disease
  • Wound healing
  • Enteral and parenteral nutrition
  • other conditions as warranted

Your Menu - Room Service 4 You

A Registered Dietitian and culinary trained staff have planned a menu that is appropriate for your medical needs in accordance with the nutrition prescription your doctor has ordered for you. Meals can be ordered over the telephone using our Room Service 4 You program, or our nutrition staff will assist you in your menu selections on a daily basis.  We hope you enjoy our many homemade entrees and fresh, local ingredients.

For Your Visitors - Mountain View Cafe

Our Room Service 4 You menu is for our patients only. In our birthing center, all new mothers can have one person of their choosing dine with them, free of charge, at each meal.

All of our guests are welcome to visit our Mountain View Café which has many similar fresh, local and homemade choices.
