The Inpatient Psychiatric Unit at CVMC offers emergency, short-term stabilization and treatment for patients with a variety of psychiatric disorders. This bright and airy 15-bed unit provides a supportive and safe environment for individuals over 18 years old whose mental illness is getting in the way of their everyday living and who cannot be treated successfully on an outpatient basis. We value the worth and dignity of every person. Our multi-disciplinary staff is committed to providing highly competent, compassionate, comprehensive care designed to promote the patient's recovery and return to community life.

The unit was completely renovated in 2002. It is a bright, well ventilated, state-of-the-art facility. There is no smoking permitted on the unit. Smokers are offered various types of assistance including counseling and nicotine-replacement medications.
