Congratulations on your new baby! There are many services and resources available while you are at CVMC and in the community to help you with your new baby.
Although research has clearly shown the benefits of breastfeeding to both baby and mother, some new mothers elect not to breastfeed. CVMC is committed to supporting and educating new mothers regardless of their feeding preference. CVMC has Certified Lactation Consultants here on staff for assistance with breastfeeding issues. The phone number for the Center for Breastfeeding is 802-371-4415.
We offer Hepatitis B vaccine immunizations to new parents for their newborn. The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommends immunizations to ensure that newborn infants are protected from Hepatitis B virus infection, a major cause of cirrhosis and liver cancer in the United States. For more information, click here.
Vermont Law requires all children up to age 8 to ride in a federally approved safety seat. For more information, go to www.carseat.org.
Infant car seats are available for sale for our clients. We also have a certified car seat technician that can help in making sure your infant or child car seat is being used correctly. Learn more about Car Seat Inspections.
Birth certificates are available from the Berlin Town Clerk. For more information, call 802-229-9298 or email townclerk[at]berlinvt[dot]org.
Every week CVMC sends birth announcement to the local papers, and once a month we compile a list of all the baby's born by town to include in one of our Birthing Center ads. If you would like your baby's birth to be included in CVMC's Birth Announcements, please fill out and return the form included in your patient information packet.
