VT/NH Susan G. Komen helps pay for mammograms and other breast care for central Vermont women. The fundraising 10K run or 5K run/walk helps support this great cause.

A fun way for families with children who struggle with weight issues to learn about healthy food choices and lifestyle changes. Join other families with similar issues and receive information and support, both for kids and parents.

Healing Art and Writing

In this two-hour drop-in session, we’ll explore art and writing that reduce stress. Using simple exercises, we will write, draw, and share stories that carry us through the challenges of healing. No writing or art experience necessary!

Childbirth Education Classes

Next Class Starts October 6

CVMC offers ongoing sessions of prenatal education and birthing classes for women starting their 7th and 8th month of pregnancy.  All instructors are certified childbirth instructors.

 

Chronic Pain Self Management Workshop

Mondays, October 6 - November 10

Strategies covered are: coping with chronic pain and feeling more in control; improving your problem solving skills; learning how to work with healthcare providers to maximize your ability to manage chronic pain; learning how to balance activity and rest.

 

17th Annual Breast Cancer Conference

October 10, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Everyone is welcome to attend this FREE event. More than 80  sessions and interactive workshops. Culinary demos; informal coffee chats with select speakers; an exhibits fair; yoga, massage and Reiki.

The Great American Smokeout

Central Vermont’s chorus of cancer survivors and caregivers. Anyone who has been affected by cancer and likes to sing or play an instrument can participate in this upbeat group. Alive! meets monthly to share supper, stories and songs.

Mothers-to-be have celebrated their pregnancies with belly casts made at CVMC for the past few years. We invite mothers to work with local artists to transform simple white plaster casts into lasting works of art.

This weekly meditation group with Sherry Rhynard offers ways to find out more about meditation and gives support to an existing daily or a new practice.

 

Prenatal Yoga

Thursday evenings, 5:30 - 6:30 pm

In a supportive and nurturing environment we will use breath, yoga poses and gentle stretches to feel at home in your changing body and prepare for the birth and beyond.

Fridays, Noon to 3:00pm

Annette Hayward, a Third Degree Reiki Practitioner, is offering 20 minute sessions. Reiki is a subtle and effective form of energy healing that increases the body’s energy level.
